Landscape lighting cable must be outdoor-rated and sized for distance and load. The wrong gauge shows up later as dim fixtures and frustrating troubleshooting.
Longer runs and higher loads need heavier cable. Match gauge to the transformer plan and the farthest fixture.
Follow local practices for burial depth and protect cable where traffic, gardening, or equipment can damage it.
Waterproof connections matter as much as the wire. Poor connectors create intermittent night failures that are hard to find.
